Randolph E. Deal received a B.A. in Speech Pathology from Oklahoma State University , an M.C.D. in Deaf Education from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, and a Ph.D. in Speech Pathology from the OUHSC.

He has co-directed the Keys Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Team at the OUHSC and the Fort Worth Cleft Palate Program at John Peter Smith Hospital, Fort Worth, Texas, and he has been a private practitioner in Dallas, Texas, Buffalo, New York, and Oklahoma City specializing in voice disorders in children and adults.

Academic appointments have included: Oklahoma State University, Baylor University, Lamar University, Buffalo State College, Missouri State University, Texas Woman’s University, and the University of North Texas. He is a Life Member of both the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the American Cleft-Palate-Craniofacial Association.
